AppJoy Insights
Flutter app development in Austria
AppJoy is an app and web development studio from Upper Austria. Flutter is our main tool for building native-quality iOS and Android apps from one codebase. This page explains how we build Flutter apps, which technologies we pair them with and what it costs.

How AppJoy builds Flutter apps
- Flutter and Dart for the client, with Riverpod and Flutter Hooks for state, go_router for navigation and Hive for local storage.
- A Go backend with PostgreSQL, or your existing API. The API is defined once in an OpenAPI file, and the server and the Dart client are generated from it.
- Firebase for sign-in, analytics and crash reporting, and Stripe or in-app purchases for payments, as the product requires.
- Store releases for the App Store and Google Play are part of the project.

Frequently asked questions
Why Flutter for an app in Austria?
One codebase reaches iOS and Android, which keeps the MVP price and the maintenance cost low, and the interface looks identical on both platforms.
How long does a Flutter MVP take?
AppJoy delivers an MVP in 10 business days after scope and price are agreed.
Can you take over an existing Flutter app?
Yes. For caberQU we built the app against an API that the client runs themselves. Existing backends can stay as they are.
Do you also build the backend?
Yes, usually in Go with PostgreSQL, or in Payload CMS with MongoDB when content management is central. We can also work against your existing API.
